The rosters for the 2015 New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game were announced by the league Saturday, and five players from the Sanford Mainers will be representing the host team.

First baseman Shaine Hughes and designated hitter Dalton Thomas were both named starters for the North Division squad, and relief pitchers Cody Dube and Iannick Remillard and outfielder Chris Gaetano will join their teammates as North Division reserves.

The North Division team will be led by Laconia manager Nick Cenatiempo, whose team led the division after the completion of play Friday night. Newport manager Mike Coombs will be at the helm of the South Division squad, as the defending league champions sat at the top of the South standings as of Friday night.

The Mainers could see a sixth player added to the North squad, as for the first time ever the league is holding a final player fan vote. Each of the 12 teams in the NECBL nominated one player to compete for the fan vote, and the Mainers selected shortstop Brendan Skidmore for the chance to round out the North Division roster. Voting begins today online at vote15.necbl.com and goes through Wednesday. Heading into Monday’s action, Skidmore was sporting a .303 batting average on the season, with 23 hits, 11 RBIs, seven runs and two stolen bases.

Sanford will be hosting the NECBL All-Star Game for the first time in franchise history. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m. Sunday’s festivities also include a 60-yard dash and the Home Run Derby.
