SANFORD — Caring Unlimited recently announced the award of a one-year grant from United Way of York County totaling $42,500. This investment will support both transitional housing and outreach services programs at York County’s Domestic Violence Resource Center.
Caring Unlimited’s transitional housing program provides survivors of domestic violence and their children with a safe, affordable place to live for up to two years while they reorganize their lives, create a network of supportive relationships, and establish a more secure economic base that will allow them to live safely and independently when they leave the program. The outreach services program provides a variety of direct support and safety planning services to victims of domestic violence and their children throughout York County.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
