LYMAN — Robert Lavigne Sr., 77, of Lyman, passed away early Wednesday morning on Sept. 9, 2015, at home.

He was born in Caribou on Dec. 3, 1937, a son of Walter and Agnes (Gagnon) Lavigne. He was educated in Saco schools.

Robert was a machinist at Saco Defense for 35 years, retiring in the 1990s. He was a call fireman for six years.

His hobbies included repairing motors on cars and trucks and reading. Most of all, he loved to play with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Shirley Lavigne; three sons, Robert I. Lavigne Jr. and his wife Barbara, William P. Lavigne, and Scott E. Lavigne; seven grandchildren, Tammie, Shawn, Kandice, Josh, Alysia, Marisa, and Rhiannon; five great-grandchildren, Addyson, Bella, Tanner, Kendall, and Audra; one brother, Ronnie; and two sisters, Sadie and Lonna.

Visiting hours will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James Street, Saco. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
