Editor,
Until Mr. Weil’s column in the Saturday, Aug. 17 Journal Tribune, I had never heard the phrase “Great Replacement Theory.” A quick Google search reveals that hardly anyone else had ever heard that phrase either.
Of course, I am not a “white nationalist.” Nor are the vast, vast, VAST majority of the 63 million voters who elected Donald Trump in 2016. We do NOT oppose immigration. We oppose ILLEGAL immigration.
Prior to 2008, many Democrats (including Senators Schumer and Obama) also opposed illegal immigration. Now they openly encourage it!
This issue is about respect for the Law and the Constitution. Without laws (and borders) our country would become just another 3rd world “s—hole.”
The current Immigration Laws in our country are a mess and Congress seems unable and unwilling to fix it. Thus, the solution is (1) elect new representatives and senators and (2) impose term limits on Congress.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
