PORTLAND — More than 750 people showed up by 10 a.m. this morning for a three-day Coast City Comicon comics convention at the Eastland Park Hotel at 157 High St.

The event, organized by Tristan Gallagher and his staff at Coast City Comics, features an eclectic mix of comic-book creators, fantasy and video gamers, tattoo artists and others.

This afternoon’s activities include a panel discussion on guerilla film-making at 3 p.m. at the Space Gallery at 538 Congress St. The convention will end with a party for people 21 and older at Geno’s Rock Club, 634 Congress St., which begins at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and $5 for children under 12.
