Bishop helps Western Conference rally for 8-7 victory in AHL All-Star game
Former University of Maine goaltender Ben Bishop stopped all four shots in the shootout, and T.J. Hensick and Matt Fraser scored to give the Western Conference an 8-7 win Monday night in the AHL All-Star game at Atlantic City, N.J.
Andy Miele of the Portland Pirates had a goal and an assist for the East, which led 6-2 after one period.
Kevin Connauton scored the tying goal for the West with 4:07 remaining. Chris Terry of the Charlotte Checkers led the West with two goals and an assist, and Cory Conacher of the Norfolk Admirals had two goals and an assist for the East.
• The Phoenix Coyotes recalled defenseman Chris Summers from the Portland Pirates. It’s the fifth recall of the season for Summers, who has three assists in nine games with the Coyotes. In 28 games with the Pirates, he has two assists and 37 penalty minutes.
