Portland firefighters quickly doused a blaze in a second floor bedroom at a home at 84 Dorset St. Wednesday night.

Three people were home cooking dinner when they heard a pop and saw smoke at 9 p.m., fire officials said.

The people left and called the Fire Department. The fire was in a wall separating the bedroom from the attic.

There was some damage to the bedroom and smoke damage on the second floor. The fire appears accidental and unrelated to human activity but remains under investigation, officials said.

Nobody was injured.
