ALBANY, N.Y. – Gerardo Suero scored 26 points and Albany rallied, then held off Maine 76-75 Saturday night in America East men’s basketball game.

Maine (8-7, 2-2) led 71-66 with 4:16 to play. But Albany (12-7, 4-1) outscored the Black Bears 10-4 down the stretch and held on to win.

The decisive point came with 1:07 remaining. Backup center John Puk made 1 of 2 free throws for his only point to put Albany ahead 76-73.

A jumper by Justin Edwards, who led the Black Bears in scoring with 19 points, cut Albany’s lead to a point but the Great Danes held on.

UMASS-DARMOUTH 61, SOUTHERN MAINE 48: Lance Greene had 15 points as UMass-Dartmouth (8-7, 2-3 Little East) topped USM (6-8, 0-5) at Gorham.

Southern Maine’s Jeremy Jackson led all scorers with 16.

ST. JOSEPH’S 63, NORWICH 32: Chris Petzy scored nine points and Nich Jobin came off the bench for nine more to lead St. Joseph’s (9-3, 5-1 GNAC) to a 29-16 halftime lead over the Cadets (3-9, 2-4) in Standish.

BATES 81, BOWDOIN 60: The Bobcats (8-6, 2-2 NESCAC) hit 12 3-point shots in their victory over Bowdoin College (9-4, 1-2), at Alumni Gymnasium in Lewiston.

Mark Brust led all scorers with 22 points for the Bobcats.

Will Hasnley had 19 points for the Polar Bears.

NICHOLS 76, UNE 70: With 16 points from Jalen Graham, Nichols College (5-8, 3-3 Commonwealth Coast Conference) defeated UNE (0-12, 0-5), at Dudley, Mass.

Marcus Winn scored 17 points for the Nor’easters.

TUFTS 64, COLBY 59: Junior tri-captain Scott Anderson scored 16 points and freshman Ben Ferris added 14 as Tufts (10-4, 3-1 NESCAC) posted a win over Colby College (4-10, 0-3), at Cousens Gym in Medford, Mass.

Colby’s Ben Foreman led all scorers with 21 points.

PAUL SMITH’S 83, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 72: Chib Belonwu scored 23 points and Kashean Alston added 21 as Paul Smith’s College upended Southern Maine Community College, at Vermont Technical College in Montpelier, Vt.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

ALBANY 60, MAINE 48: Lindsey Lowrie scored 19 points and Julie Forster had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Great Danes (11-7, 5-0 America East), who used a 12-0 run in the final eight minutes to beat the Black Bears (3-14, 0-4) at Orono.

BATES 69, BOWDOIN 53: Molly Brown scored 19 points and Allie Bealieu had 17 for the Bobcats (7-8, 2-2 NESCAC), who used a 12-2 run in the final 6:11 of the first half to take a 34-22 lead over the Polar Bears (10-4, 2-1) at Lewiston.

USM 89, UMASS-DARTMOUTH 60: Haley Jordan scored 22 points and Courtney Cochran had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Huskies (11-4, 3-2 Little East) past the Corsairs (9-5, 2-3) at Gorham.

UNE 65, NICHOLS 35: Lauren Rousseau scored 21 points as the Nor’easters (9-3, 4-1 Commonwealth Coast) rolled past the Bison (3-10, 2-4) at Dudley, Mass.

ST. JOSEPH’S 74, NORWICH 65: Megan McDevitt scored 19 points and Lindsay Moore had 12 points and 16 rebounds to help the Monks (8-5, 2-0 GNAC) down the Cadets (6-8, 1-2) at Standish.

TUFTS 59, COLBY 50: Hayley Kanner and Kate Barnosky each scored 14 points for the Jumbos (12-3, 3-1 NESCAC), who took advantage of 19 turnovers to beat the Mules (10-2, 2-1) at Medford, Mass.

MEN’S HOCKEY

BOWDOIN 4, TRINITY 4: Graham Sisson got the tying goal 4:34 into the third period by converting a power play for the Polar Bears (5-7-1) against the Bantams (8-4-2) at Hartford, Conn.

ST. ANSELM 6, SOUTHERN MAINE 4: Kevin Vanous scored twice, including the winner 8:56 into the third, as the Hawks (6-3-3) downed the Nor’easters (3-8-2) at Manchester, N.H.

SOUTHERN MAINE 2, NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 2: Johan Qvarfordt scored 3:32 into the third period as the Pilgrims (8-5-1) tied the Huskies (5-5-4) at Henniker, N.H.

Jamie Osborne and Jon Grandinetti scored late in the second period to put the Huskies on top 2-1.

WESLEYAN 2, COLBY 1: Nik Tasiopoulos converted a power play 6:29 in the second to lift the Cardinals (9-5) over the Mules (3-11) at Middletown, Conn.

Michael Doherty scored in the first period.

BOWDOIN 3, WESLEYAN 2: Kayte Holtz scored the winner with 1:35 left and the Polar Bears (6-5-2, 4-2 NESCAC) edged the Cardinals (2-13, 1-7) at Brunswick.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 4, COLBY 1: The Camels (5-5-2, 3-4-1 NESCAC) scored three goals in the first period and went on to defeat the Mules (4-8-2, 1-6-1) at Waterville.

Natalie Fischer scored for Colby.

MAINE 3, BOSTON UNIVERSITY 2: Kayla Kaluzny, Missy Denk and Tori Pasquariello scored for the visiting Black Bears (11-8-5, 5-6-1 Hockey East) against the Terriers (11-10-1, 6-5).

PLYMOUTH STATE 3, SOUTHERN MAINE 2: Abby Van Wormer scored an unassisted power-play goal 6:10 into the third period to give the Panthers (1-8-3, ) the win over the Huskies (4-8-2) at Gorham.
