Disgruntled

On Monday, Aug. 25, at 5:31 p.m., police responded to Cabela’s on Cabela Boulevard for a report of a former employee creating a disturbance. According to police, the ex-employee had been fired and was at the store arguing with former supervisors. The disgruntled ex-employee was served with a trespass notice making it a crime for him to return to the premises, police said.

Expensive makeup

On Monday, Aug. 25, at 8:40 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Wal-Mart on Payne Road. According to police, a woman had been caught while attempting to shoplift $86 worth of cosmetics. Makayla Burke, 18, of Waterboro, was issued a summons for theft.

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 2:09 a.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Payne Road. According to police, the disturbance was a large party where alcohol was being served and only four of the 19 people in attendance were of legal age. Police removed all alcohol and issued a summons to Ashlee Miles, 18, of 20 Payne Road, for furnishing a place for a minor to possess or consume liquor.

Flower fraud

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 4:41 p.m., police responded to Maine Floral Creations on Route 1 for a report of fraud. According to police, an employee reported that two months earlier, a male had ordered $43 worth of flowers for a female and provided credit card information. The floral shop had just been notified that the card was being used fraudulently and the card’s real owner, who lives out of state, had nothing to do with the purchase.

Phone fraud

On Wednesday, Aug. 27, police responded to Gorham Road for a fraud report. According to police, a man said he had received a telephone message purporting to be from his credit card company informing him that his account was overdrawn and he would be charged a $67 fee unless he called back immediately with his account information. Police informed him that the call was likely fraudulent and similar to others received by area residents.

Porn complaint

On Wednesday, Aug. 27, police responded to a residence on Olde Mill Road to speak with a resident who reported receiving an e-mail from the Dominican Republic with child pornography attached. The report and e-mail were forwarded to the Secret Service for further investigation.

Spitting match

On Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 7:27 p.m., police responded to Hannaford Supermarket on Hannaford Drive for a report of threatening behavior. According to police, two people had gotten into a disagreement about a parking space and person who did not get the parking space spit on the vehicle of the person who did. The person whose vehicle was spat upon called police because he was concerned about his safety.

Moved out

On Thursday, Aug. 28, at 6:47 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Gorham Road between a landlord who believed his tenant had vacated the premises and the tenant, who had not vacated the premises. Upon identifying the landlord and tenant, police discovered that the tenant, Bruce Lord, 25, of Scarborough, was wanted on an arrest warrant, and arrested him.

On Sunday, Aug. 31, at 12:17 a.m., police responded to the state park on Black Point Road after a resident reported a loud party and vehicles racing up and down the road. Police were not able to locate a party. A person living at one of the nearby houses reported that a person had been driving a Gator – a four-wheeler-type vehicle – in the area.

Unwanted campers

On Sunday, Aug. 31, at 1:18 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at Bayley’s Campground on Pine Point Road. According to police, the owner of the campground told responding officers that he had some trouble with some clients that he had kicked out for bad behavior. The would-be campers kept returning, police said. Police located a group of two males and two females who fit the description of the unwanted campers and who were walking along Route 9, police said. When police attempted to talk to them about the campground trespass complaint, two of the four allegedly took off running. Police caught one and, after identifying him as Brandon Coutts, 19, of Hookset, N.H., arrested him on a charge of refusing to submit to arrest/dentention.
