WESTBROOK — A Gray man was arrested in Westbrook last weekend after robbing a Subway restaurant of an undisclosed amount of cash at knifepoint. 

Charles M. Small, 50, was arrested Jan. 27 on a charge of robbery, a Class A felony. Westbrook police officers arrested him on probable cause of robbing the fast-food eatery at 716 Brighton R0ad.

According to a press release from Westbrook Police Capt. Sean Lally, a man entered the Subway at 6:45 p.m., brandished a knife and demanded money. He fled the restaurant on foot with the stolen cash.

Police found Small shortly after they received a report of a man acting suspiciously in the area of 745 Bridgton Road, less than 200 feet from the restaurant. Small is being held at Cumberland County Jail in Portland.
