Drivers in Windham are being encouraged to avoid the bridge over the Pleasant River on Windham Center Road on Monday, Aug. 22, and Tuesday, Aug. 23, while the Maine Department of Transportation is testing the bridge.
According to a notice from the town of Windham, on Monday the state will be preparing for load tests the next day.
The William Knight Road bridge, also over the Pleasant River, was restricted to a 3-ton weight limit in mid-July after a routine inspection by the department identified structural deficiencies.
