Gorham Police are investigating a single-car crash on Dingley Springs Road at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday that hospitalized the driver.

Police identified the driver as Alfred Mcintosh,44, of Standish, who was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro.

Sgt. Sears Edwards reported that police responding to a call found a “single vehicle off the road partially in the water.”

Officers learned from the scene that the vehicle was traveling south on Dingley Springs Road at a “high rate of speed, went off the roadway and struck several trees and came to final rest partially in the bog below,” Edwards said in a report.

Police said Mcintosh was transported to a hospital and the crash is still under investigation.
