The Scarborough Public Library will hold a job search workshop on Thursday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to noon. The free program is particularly appropriate for those who are seeking to rejoin the workforce, are between jobs or contemplating a job change.
Mark Cafiso and Kevin Connors, CareerCenter consultants for the Maine Department of Labor, and Matthew Hayden, a supervisor for Goodwill Workforce Solutions, will present an overview of job search resources and job-related training opportunities and will discuss the network of professionals available to support job seekers.
Participants will learn about federal and state training grants that help job seekers obtain the skills and knowledge they need for in-demand jobs. In addition, librarians will help attendees brush up on their computer skills, prepare for an employment test or create a resume.
