Two Buxton police officers and one from the Westbrook Police Department graduated Friday in a ceremony at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro.
Buxton Chief Jody Thomas pinned badges on Jason O. Denison and Robert K. Nguyen, who was class treasurer. Nguyen also earned the emergency vehicle operation course proficiency award.
Westbrook Chief Bill Baker pinned the badge on Officer Stephen A. Goldberg.
Maine Attorney General Steven Rowe was the keynote speaker.
“I know you are all proud to be here today,” Rowe told the graduating cadets.
Rowe told the new police officers to “protect their integrity” and to be role models for kids in their communities.
“As law enforcement officers you’re expected to be at your best when others are at their worst,” Rowe told the graduating class.
The three officers were among 49 graduates in the 18 weeks of training and studying at the academy.
