The 2007 Mushers Bowl Winter Carnival will be held throughout Bridgton Jan. 19-21 with a special pre-event on Jan. 18.
People are invited to come to Bridgton to join in the excitement of world class dogsled racing and skijoring while also enjoying the fun of a traditional Maine winter carnival. You can participate in most events at no extra charge by simply purchasing a Mushers Bowl Winter Carnival button at many locations including the Greater Bridgton Chamber of Commerce’s Information Center on Route 302 in Bridgton.
This year’s event will feature a variety of activities that are structured regardless of the weather. Plan to join the Chamber and entire community at the pre-event, the DARE Basketball Classic pitting the Chamber All-Stars against the combined forces of the Bridgton police and fire departments. This event benefits the local DARE Program.
The Mushers Bowl Winter Carnival has scheduled many other competitive contests to take part in as well. The Bridgton Hospital High School Super Stars Challenge will have teams of high school students attempting to win challenges (as a team) to be crowned the “Superstars.” If dodgeball is the game you loved or hated, join us at Bridgton Academy for the Bridgton Academy Mid-Winter Massacre Dodgeball Tournament.
Both events are on Saturday as is the Second Bridgton Ping Pong Tournament featuring great tables, equipment and competition. Finally, we will see you on the ice Sunday morning for the third annual Broomball Tournament. Last year, 12 teams signed up so for this or any of the contests, call the Greater Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber Of Commerce Information Center at 647-3472 to sign up or for details.
