Those three will compete at States alongside Justice Gaston in the High Jump and Megan Knights in the 55 Hurdles. The Lady Eagles have also assembled 4×200 and 4×800 Relay squads.

“We have a small delegation this year at both Championship meets,” said Windham girls coach Scott Rush-Donohue, who added that his team is quite young. “But [we] hope our State representatives can make some noise with seasonal bests and personal records, which would place them in line with getting to the podium.”

For Bonny Eagle, Sabria Merrifield and Abigail Nelson finished second in the Junior 55 and Junior 800 respectively. Teammate Aasyhia Connell took fourth in the Junior 55 Hurdles, while Hannah Corbett and Jocelyn Beaulieu placed third and sixth in the Junior Shot Put. The 4×200 Relay squad earned fourth.

Last but certainly not least – not when scoring is as tight as it was on Saturday – Samantha Richard took sixth in the Senior 55 Hurdles.

States are scheduled for Feb. 15; they’ll take place, as usual, at USM.
