The Gorham High School production of “Mother Hicks” won first place at the Class A state finals of the one-act play festival over the past weekend in Camden.
The school had previously won this year’s regional drama competition.
“Mother Hicks,” directed by Eileen Avery, is the story of an eccentric woman believed to be a witch.
Library program reminder

Woman’s club
art show
The Gorham Woman’s Club will host its art show reception from 3-4 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, at First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St. All students and families are welcome.
The club will have its art show and youth leadership program presented by Nancy Kenty and Gloria Tewhey at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m.
Matthews on dean’s list Allison Matthews of Gorham has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Lafayette College in Easton, Penn.
