Breakfast with Santa

There are some updates on the upcoming breakfast with Santa being held on Dec. 8 at the Sebago Center Community Church.

The children’s Santa’s Shop is rapidly filling up with sale items for the children’s shopping time after their breakfast. The Grange Knit Wit members and church members have been creating items since spring for the sale. Gifts for all family members have been created, such as key racks, antenna flags, memo books, purses, toys, kitchen needs, mittens, hats, bibs, candles, pillow cases, toiletry baskets, desk accessories, lapel pins, banks, tree ornaments, magnets and slippers, to name a bunch.

Most of the items are handcrafted and all gifts will range in cost from 25 cents to $1. The selected gifts will be wrapped and tagged for secrecy. Limited seating is available, so call with your reservations if you plan to attend with your child(ren). Seatings are at 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., $3.50 for each parent/child combo, each additional child is $1. The church is located on Route 107, across from the Town Office and Fire Station No. 1. For reservations or more information, call 787-2489.

The youngsters will be introduced to facts of the original Saint Nicholas and the aspect of sharing at Christmas as well as receiving. This event will save families gas, as the cost of traveling outside town is substantial at this time. Also, the low cost of the purchases will add to the pleasure of their gift-giving.

A Word of Thanks

The following is from Maureen Harriman, coach of the grades 1 and 2 girls soccer team in Sebago.

“I would like to take a moment to thank all of you who made the first- and second-grade girls soccer season such a success, starting of course with the enthusiastic support of all you parents who assisted with the carpooling, snacks, drinks and cheering. Without all of you, none of this is possible.

Secondly, with the league reps, referees, and volunteers, a sincere thanks to you.

“Finally, to all the girls who put their whole hearts into all the games and had such a winning season, it was such a joy coaching all of you, and I look forward to watching your progress in the years to come.

“I would be remiss if I did not extend a warm thanks to both Steve Herrick, his wife, Danielle, and David Chadwick for all their help and support. And a quick thanks also to Addison’s for hosting our end-of-the-year party.”

The Grade 1/2 Girls Soccer Team 2007 included Hannah Chadwick, Danica Chadwick, Brooke Harriman, Maraia Nason, Maggie Luce, Sasha Perham, Hannah Comacho, Molly Foley, Sara Stefaniak, Desi Touchette, Libby Knudsen, Ashley Herrick, Andrea Johnston and Katie Proia.
