Digital recovery

On Aug. 9, a Portland resident brought a digital camera he had found at Fort Williams Park into the Cape Elizabeth Police Department. The silver camera, in a small, olive-colored zipper case, and has an approximate value of $300.

Dog bite

On Aug. 9, an officer spoke with a resident of South Portland regarding a dog bite complaint that had occurred in the Oakhurst Road area. The dog was identified and its current rabies vaccination was confirmed.

Building theft

On Aug. 9, an officer met with a contractor working in the Mitchell Road area, who reported the theft of three framing guns and five rolls of ice and water shield. The framing guns were valued at $350 each and the rolls at $100 per roll. It is believed the theft happened during the night.

Canine carnage

On Aug. 10, an officer met with residents of the Bowery Beach Road area regarding a complaint of a dog bite. The same dog had been documented as biting other people. The dog’s owner was contacted and issued a summons for keeping a dangerous dog and failure to license a dog. The dog will also be quarantined for 10 days.

Grass impressions

On Aug. 11, at about 7 p.m., an officer met with a resident of Spurwink Avenue in regards to criminal mischief to a lawn. It appeared that someone had spun the tires of a vehicle to make deep marks in the grass.

Aug. 14

Corey S. Barrett, 18, of Farm Hill Road, was arrested at Cape Elizabeth Middle School on charges of a probation violation.

Chad Alexander, 24, 355 Woodman Hill, Minot, was issued a summons on Sawyer Road for a seatbelt violation.

Stephen Hinman, 36, 64 Spurwink Ave., was issued a summons on Spurwink Avenue for failing to stop for a red light.

John Ready, 25, 43 Alewife Cove Road, was issued a summons on Spurwink Avenue for failing to produce proof of insurance.

Darlene Oliver, 44, 172 Line Road, Buxton, was issued a summons on Scott Dyer Road for operating under the influence.

Gregory Gobel, 27, 27 Carroll St., Bangor, was issued a summons on Route 77 for failing to produce proof of insurance.

John Shuman, 49, 10 Two Lights Road, was issued a summons on Sawyer Road for speeding 49 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Zachary Sprague, 29, 7 Ram Island Road, was issued a summons on Ram Island Road for keeping a dangerous dog and failure to license a dog.

Faimalfili Monaghan, 43, 14 Eastfield Road, was issued a summons on Eastfield Road for having a dog at large.

A 17-year-old Cape Elizabeth boy was issued a summons on Route 77 for a seatbelt violation and possession of marijuana.

Megan Marshall, 19, 356 Michell Road, was issued a summons on Oakhurst Road for an unregistered motor vehicle.

Daniel Joyce, 21, 35A Carriage Lane, Portland, was issued a summons on Spurwink Avenue for having an unregistered motor vehicle.

Notis Alexander, 18, Reading, Mass., was issued a summons on Shore Road for illegal transportation of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ryan Lendway, 27, 100 Cedar Circle, Gorham, was issued a summons at Kettle Cove for indecent conduct.

Aug. 14

A 17-year-old South Portland boy was issued a summons for possession of marijuana.

David Creamer, 18, South Portland, was issued a summons on Shore Road for possession of marijuana.

Fire and Rescue

The Cape Rescue squad responded to seven calls between Aug. 8 and Aug. 13. Five patients were transported to Maine Medical Center and two were transported to Mercy Hospital.

The Cape Fire Department responded to a smell of smoke on Valley Road at 2:17 p.m. on Aug. 9; an activated fire alarm on Stonegate Road at 3:22 p.m. on Aug. 11; an activated fire alarm on Scott Dyer Road at 7:46 p.m. on Aug. 11; and wires down on Kettle Cove Road at 1:21 p.m. on Aug. 12.
