The New Gloucester Board of Selectmen will begin reviewing applications for the open town manager position next week.

The deadline for applications is Friday, Sept. 26, and the board, with the help of the Maine Municipal Association, will start processing the applications as soon as possible, Chairwoman Lenora Conger said Monday.

Rosemary Kulow submitted her resignation late last month after almost five years as town manager. Her last day was Friday, Sept. 19.

Also Monday, the board appointed Barbara Seaver as town clerk, road commissioner, tax collector, treasurer and welfare director. She will serve in those roles until a new town manager is hired, Conger said.

Selectmen also have a supervisory capacity, Conger said, so with the appointment of Seaver the town will be able manage until a town manager is found.
