Hit the trail

Standish Recreation invites you to celebrate National Trails Day at the fourth annual Mountain Division Trail Family Fun 5K Walk and Run. The event starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, at the Otter Pond Y.M.C.A. Camp on Route 35 in Standish.

Participants will be traversing the trail that connects the Standish, Gorham and Windham communities. The parks and recreation departments of all three towns will be hosting a day filled with family fun for everyone at the Mountain Division Trail. The fee is $7 per individual or $25 for a family of four or more. For more information contact Linda Brooks at 642-2875.

Strange landings

The Obsessive Comedy Disorder will present two episodes of “The Three Aliens Radio Show,” on May 30, at 8 p.m. at the Schoolhouse Performing Arts Center.

Episodes 2 and 3 will be taped before a live audience on for future airings on WJZF-Standish, 97.1 FM. These two episodes of “The Three Aliens Radio Show” are interactive and audience members will get to join in the fun of creating the sounds and impressions of the Old West.

Tickets to the show are $10 and can be purchased by calling 642-3743. If you missed the first airing of “The Three Aliens Radio Show,” you can listen to the previous episodes on WJZF-Standish at 97.1 FM on Sundays at 6 p.m. or Fridays at 9 p.m.

Discovering fairies

If you build a house for the fairies, will they come to visit? Join Standish Recreation at the Town Hall Saturday, June 7, to find out.

Let your child discover the secret world of fairies through Tracy Kane’s award winning book “Fairy Houses.” Hear the story, have a snack and then build a fairy house of your own. This will be a fairy adventure not to miss. The adventure begins for kid ages 4-7 at 9:30 a.m. Children 8 and older can take the journey at 10:45 a.m. For more information call 642-2875

Yard Sale

The Limington Extension is sponsoring yard sales to raise funds for numerous scholarships for college-bound Bonny Eagle High School students.

The yard sales will be held Saturday, May 31, and Saturday, June 7 from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at 476 Sand Pond Road. There will be new and used goods including; clothing, candy, bug spray and household items. For more information please call Karen at 642-3508.
