Mutt/Jeff: Since the minds of Lane and Tommy are taking a much-needed vacation, their new alter egos are temporarily taking over this column. In as much as we were resurrected by Gayle Clarke of Windham in her recent letter to the editor in this newspaper we feel compelled to tell the rest of the story or at least as much as we can regarding the issues at Windham’s school bus garage. We believe that this story will be similar to the infomercials one sees on television that seemingly end with the comment of wait folks, there’s even more.

Mutt: Clarke made the statement that Lane and Tommy joined the chorus about the recent uproar over the incident about a school bus driver in Windham. This statement is totally incorrect as Lane and Tommy formed the chorus several years ago and they continue to enjoy writing the music for it. She accused Councilor Warren of witch hunting and Councilors Chapman and Davis joining with him. This is so far from the truth because the statement does nothing but slander the mentioned councilors so I have a question to ask Clarke.

What would you have written if children had been harmed either physically or mentally because the Windham School Department had no solid procedure in place for an event of this type as if they ever had a procedure for any other possible disaster scenario?

Jeff: I am one who holds the belief that all present town councilors are for the children of Windham. With three incidents involving Windham’s school bus garage, I cannot feel the same about the school department. I am tired or their cover-ups and circling of the wagons thus closing doors to public information. Even worse, perhaps even lying about it.

What Clarke does not see through her blinders is that what is missing from the Windham School Department is truth and accountability. I personally feel that Warren has won the trust of the citizens of Windham especially those who feel speaking out against the school department will result in repercussions against them or their children in the future.

Mutt/Jeff: We are convinced that Clarke’s letter to the editor was flagrantly biased against anyone who would dare to speak the truth about the Windham School Department blunders of the past six months. It is obvious that she is joined at the hip with that department and will do nothing except support her Prince Charming. We are traveling back to Cartoon Lane to ask Beavis and Butthead if they served on the last Superintendent Search Committee, which Clarke stated she served on.

Jeff: If there is nothing wrong at the Windham school bus garage, why is the school department advertising for a new transportation director? Has she been hung out to dry and thus becomes the second victim of the failed policies of either the Superintendent of Schools or perhaps the continuing fabrications of the Windham School Board?

Mutt and Jeff would like to join Lane and Tommy of Windham to ask the question of when the Beverly Hills paradise condos will be built in South Windham at the Keddy Mill site that some councilors have stated are so absolutely vital to Windham’s future. Show us the condos!
