This past Friday, I attended a fundraiser to support the re-election of Windham Town Councilors John MacKinnon and Carol Waig. It was at the Veteran’s Center and was very nice.

A lot of work went into the spaghetti dinner, the set up and the pie auction. The live music was a welcome addition to the lively conversation. It was a well-attended event with approximately 70 guests.

What I found most interesting was the demographics of the crowd. There were Republicans, Independents and Democrats. Represented there was “new Windham” and “old Windham.” There were young and old, male and female.

Also there were those who have never missed voting in an election – and there were those who have never before been involved in local politics – which I think speaks volumes.

I urge you to go to Windham High School and vote on June 10. Be a part of what is going on in your town.
