It’s not hard to believe that you’ve reverted to your slanderous ways.
How is it that Phil Pomerleau now has a serious conflict of interest when he voted not to confirm a department head, when for eight years, when he voted with you to confirm them, he had no conflict?
Your slanderous accusation that Pomerleau has a serious conflict of interest is nothing but a red herring, for you of all people, realize that if Pomerleau had recused himself or that if the Council had required that he be recused, the fire chief would still not have been confirmed because as you know, it takes four affirmative votes to confirm the appointee.
Pomerleau has purposely never served on the Council’s Personnel Committee and has asked to recuse himself on any votes concerning Town employee pay and other remuneration.
Why don’t you tell the readers of this paper what your real reason was for taking off on Phil and me?
I agree, it did have something to do with the printed ads both of us bought, but little to do with how we feel about the town employees. It was the parts where each of us stated that we were not in favor of spending $8.8 million for a community center.
Face it, if we were in favor of spending that amount of money for your nice-to-have project, your diatribe in last week’s edition of this paper would have never seen the light of day.
Louis A. Stack,
Standish Town Councilor
