Haven’s Candies, in business since 1915, is giving away a 3-foot-tall chocolate bunny with $1,000 cash inside. This is the 18th year the company will offer this sweepstakes to customers who visit any of its three local stores in Portland, Scarborough and Westbrook.

“We are very excited about this annual tradition, and many of our customers look forward to their chance to take home this great prize,” said owner Andy Charles. “We often have past winners stop by to tell us how much they appreciated their prize, and some of them donate a portion of their winnings to local charities.”

Haven’s Candies has been handcrafting chocolates, fudge, salt water taffy and other confections in the Portland area for 99 years. At Easter the company produces more than 20,000 chocolate Easter bunnies in a variety of sizes.

The entry deadline for the Bunny with the Money sweepstakes is Friday, April 18, and the winner will be drawn at the Westbrook store on the morning of April 19.
