Deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office this week uncovered a suspected marijuana growing operation at a trailer park in Gray.
On the morning of Sunday, Feb. 15, deputies investigated a suspected marijuana cultivation operation at 314 Shaker Road, the residence of Jay J. Poitras, 33. Tipped off by a concerned citizen, the deputies went to the residence, where they could smell marijuana, said Capt. Shawn O’Leary.
Deputies seized more than 50 mature marijuana plants, cultivation supplies and just under one pound of processed marijuana, with an estimated street value of around $2,500.
Poitras was issued a criminal summons for cultivation of marijuana, a Class D misdemeanor. He is scheduled to appear in Portland District Court on May 13.
