Foye tourney sign up
The second annual Jim Foye Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Gorham Country Club, and registration is required by Saturday, Aug. 3.
The cost to play in the tournament is $60 per golfer or $240 for a team. The cost to sponsor a hole is $75 for a business or $50, individual.
Tami Blake Hamilton of the Jim Foye Memorial Golf Tournament Committee said last year’s event raised more than $7,000 for the scholarship in memory of Foye.
“The scholarship benefits Westbrook High School graduating seniors who exemplify the qualities that made Jim the man we all loved and respected,” Hamilton said.
Hamilton said Foye was the “go-to guy” for many people in the Westbrook community.
“He was always there to listen to your worries or share in your joys,” Hamilton said. “He could be counted on for a laugh or a hug. He inspired us to do what we could while he quietly did so much more.”
Registration forms can be picked up at Rivers Edge Deli on Main Street in Westbrook or downloaded from www.facebook.com/JimFoyeMemorialGolfTournament.
