Westbrook couple observes anniversary

Stan and Carol Reynolds of Westbrook celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on Dec. 15.

Stan, 86, served with the U.S. Army in the China-Burma- India theater in World War II; Carol, 74, served with an armor division in Fort Knox, Ky.

They are both members of American Legion Post 62 in Westbrook where she is sergeant-at-arms.

WHS class of ’53 seeks classmates

The reunion committee for the Westbrook High School class of 1953 hopes to locate several classmates for its reunion on Friday, Aug. 2, at the Fireside Inn near Exit 48 in Portland.

The committee is searching for contact information for Harold Corkum, Rena Gervis, Mabel Gooding, James Harris, Janet Hawkes, Harvey Lavigne, William Levesque, Beverly May, Orrin Mitch, Hugh Plummer, Peter Potter, Jackie Richot, Malcolm Roma, Donna Smith, Frank Wood, and Wayne Worchester.

Westbrook grad dead at 90

Word has been received of the recent death of the Rev. Reginald A. Redlon in New Jersey.

Redlon was born Thomas Anthony Redlon in 1922 in Portland. He graduated from Westbrook High School in 1939 before attending St. Joseph’s Seminary in New York.

In 1943, he was received into the Order of Friars Minor, Holy Name Province at St. Bonaventure Friary in New Jersey. He was ordained into the priesthood in 1949.

Hit the road ?with seniors

Westbrook Senior Citizens are planning two trips in 2013.

The group will travel to Massachusetts on Friday, March 15, to see the Women of Ireland performance at Venus de Milo.

In an eight-day cruise May 31 to June 7, the group will sail from Boston to Bermuda. The New England band Straight Lace will perform golden oldies.
