Sometime in the next year, perhaps, a traffic light will be installed at the corner of Route 202 and Windham Center Road, to provide safety at that corner, which has changed dramatically in less than 100 years. If you stood in the middle of the road in front of Don and Norma Rogers’ house and looked down Windham Center Road toward Portland, you’d probably be hit by a vehicle. This photo shows what it would be like not quite 100 years ago. A dirt road, meandering toward the brook, past the old brick school on the right and headed toward the Hawkes farm. Doesn’t take long for things to change, does it? Photo courtesy of Windham Historical Society
