A “Solar For Maine” workshop will be held on Sunday, Oct. 8 from 9-11 a.m. at Allen Avenue UU Church, 524 Allen Avenue, Portland (just north of Northgate Shopping Center).

Advantages of installing solar panels include: Savings on energy bills, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, enhanced property value. You will learn about monetary incentives available from various sources.

The spiraling costs of oil and gas focus are putting attention on alternative sources of energy. If you are wondering how you will pay your oil bill this winter, attend this workshop to learn how solar could be one of the solutions. Though the workshop is focused on churches, homeowners will benefit from the information presented. Maine Energy Investment Corporation, working with Maine Interfaith Power and Light and the Maine Council of churches, will provide the information at a workshop.
