Windham-area older adults are invited to 21st Family Fitness Center Friday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. – noon, for a fun event showcasing the Healthways SilverSneakers Fitness Program, the nation’s leading exercise program designed exclusively for older adults.
In celebration of Healthy Heart Month, anyone who wears red to the event or brings a healthy recipe to share will be entered into a raffle to win a prize. A SilverSneakers class will take place at 10:15 a.m., which provides first time attendees an opportunity to experience the award-winning class.
Refreshments will be provided for all attendees as well as facility tours for new members. Interested individuals who cannot attend the open house event are encouraged to stop by 21st Family Fitness Center during regular business hours to have any questions about the popular program answered.
The SilverSneakers Fitness Program is designed especially for older adults who want to improve their strength, flexibility and endurance and encourages members to make healthy choices and commit to making physical activity a part of their lives. In Maine, SilverSneakers is offered at no additional cost to eligible Medicare members of Humana.
