Scarborough freshman pitcher Mo Hannan, shown here in a game earlier this season, tossed a one-hitter to lift the Red Storm to a 2-0 win over South Portland in last week’s Western Maine Class A championship. The Storm had had its state championship contest against Skowhegan postponed three times by this edition’s deadline.

Scarborough coach Tom Griffin and his players, shown here during a game earlier this season, were still waiting to play Skowhegan for the Class A state softball title as of this edition’s deadline. By Tuesday, the game, originally scheduled for Saturday at noon, was pushed back three times due to rain, and also moved to a different location.
