Pathways through Grief, an eight-week educational and support group program for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one or friend, will be offered in the Lakes Region area on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 18 and in the Oxford Hills area on Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm beginning Sept. 12.

The program is facilitated by trained bereavement volunteers and is sponsored at no cost to participants by Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

The weekly sessions are designed to help individuals. Topics include: Understanding the Grieving Process; Dealing with Practical Concerns; Managing Stress and Pain; and Finding Hope and Comfort.

“These programs began in response to the community’s need for local grief support services,” said Jim Douglas, AHCH Bereavement Supervisor. “I’m delighted with our volunteers, whose skill and commitment make these groups happen. The positive response of those participating in the Pathways through Grief program tells us we are providing an important service to those who are grieving losses.”

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all eight sessions and pre-registration is required. For more information, contact Jim Douglas, Supervisor of Bereavement Services at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, (800) 482-7412 or 795-9462. Locations for programs given at registration.
