A Westbrook man has been indicted on charges that he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl on separate occasions in Westbrook and Windham.
Thomas Bassler, 57, in an indictment handed down by Cumberland Count Superior Court, was charged with four counts of gross sexual assault, a Class A crime; two counts each of Class B unlawful sexual contact; Class C unlawful sexual contact; and unlawful sexual touching, a Class D crime.
Bassler was charged Dec. 17 and released on $500 bail, with the condition that he has no contact with the victim, a 14-year-old female, or any females under the age of 16. He agreed to report to Windham police for booking and fingerprinting within seven days.
Authorities allege the offenses occurred in Windham and Westbrook between June 1, 2007, and Aug. 31, 2008.
