Rebekahs plan party

The Rebekahs will meet Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Odd Fellows Hall. Members will wear Christmas colors. DiDi Bennett will be in charge of the program, which will be a small Christmas party, and Carleen and Larry Wallace are in charge of the refreshments.

Christmas baskets

Christmas Dinner Baskets will be given out Dec. 22 from 1-3 p.m. only. Clients that have applied must pick them up during that time frame at the Windham Food Pantry.

Next year is here

The 2009 Windham Historical Society calendars, featuring Windham neighborhoods, have arrived. They are $10 each if picked up or $12.50 if they are mailed. Calendars can be ordered by sending a check to: Windham Historical Society, P.O. Box 1475, Windham, ME 04062. Kay Soldier has some at her house if anyone wants to pick one up there. All proceeds help maintain the three museums the Society operates in Windham. The Historical Society is a non-profit educational organization.

Time to Shrine

The Lakes Region Shriners will meet Dec. 1 at Thatcher’s Restaurant. The social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be at 6:30. There will be a gift swap and drawings for some hams. They will hold their election of officers and directors for next year.

Lions Club events

The third annual Breakfast with Santa, Saturday, Dec. 13, 8-10 a.m. at the Veterans Center behind the Windham Mall. All you can eat. No charge, donations accepted.

“Stuff the Bus” at Hannafords Supermarket, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 13-14, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The event will provide food baskets for the holidays and provisions for the Windham Food Pantry.
