The Windham High boys lacrosse team got its second win of the season in exciting fashion last Friday, outlasting Westbrook to pull out a 7-6 overtime victory.

The Eagles netted the game-winning goal after Madison St. Peter caused a groundball to start a fastbreak. He sent a long pass to Ryan Littlefield, who controlled it and put it in the net.

John Skvorak led Windham with three goals, Joe Parent had a goal and three assists, and Dan Jameson and Naveed Ahmady each chipped in a goal and an assist for the Eagles, who tied the game up in the final moments to force the extra time. Donny Hegarty made eight saves in net.

“It was an absolutely thrilling game, one of the most exciting I’ve ever coached or played in,” said Windham coach Chris Shorr.

The Eagles fell to 2-3 on the season Monday, dropping a 13-8 decision to St. Dom’s at home. Skvorak scored five goals, Littlefield added a pair and St. Peter scored once for the Eagles, who trailed 8-2 at halftime. Jake Greenwood had two assists for Windham. Hegarty made 11 saves.
