Barden awarded scholarships

University of Southern Maine student Michael T. Barden Sr., who plans to be a forensic psychiatric nurse practitioner, has been awarded the Arthur and Judith Benoit Memorial Scholarship and the Nursing Alumni Scholarship.

Barden, a senior majoring in nursing and psychology, will graduate in 2006. A Gorham High School graduate in 1971, he also has attended four other colleges and universities, including the University of Maine at Orono and Southern Maine Community College.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard T. Barden of 28 Maplewood Drive.

Poulin on dean’s list

Christina F. Poulin has been named to the dean’s list for the second semester at St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.

Poulin, daughter of Anne Ledue, is a member of the class of 2006.

Johnston graduates TCU

Brett C. Johnston was one of 1,253 graduates receiving degrees on May 14 in commencement exercises at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.

Johnston received a degree in accounting and he was presented a diploma by the university’s chancellor, Victor J. Boschini, in the Fort Worth Convention Center.
