WINDHAM – Windham High School announced the fall production of 42nd Street, a musical within a musical based in the 1930s on Broadway.
The show will open on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. and run for two weekends with the final show on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 4 p.m. All performances will be showcased at the Windham Performing Arts Center located at Windham High School at 406 Gray Road in Windham.
42nd Street will feature incredible tap dancing as well as one unforgettable song after including “Lullaby of Broadway,” “About a Quarter to Nine,” “Shuffle off to Buffalo,” “Dames,” “I Only Have Eyes for You,” and “We’re in the Money.”
42nd Street highlights the musical theater talents of more than 50 Windham High School student actors, singers, dancers, musicians and technicians. The production is directed by Rob Juergens with musical direction by Dr. Richard Nickerson. CJ Payne shares his talents as technical director and set designer; Vanessa Beyland of Portland Ballet choreographed the dances, and Weslie Evans created the costumes.
Featured actors include Emily Gagne as Peggy Sawyer, Jake Noble as Julian Marsh, Adam Poitras as Billy Lawler, and Jennifer Bernier as Dorothy Brock. Their collective talents, along with a stacked ensemble cast, make a fun and entertaining show not to be missed.
Show dates are Nov. 14,15, 16, 21, 22 and 23 with Friday and Saturday shows starting at 7 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 4 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $8 for children, students, and seniors.
