Students from the four, fourth-grade classes raised money during a Dec. 18 economics fair. They made Maine-themed crafts, and sold them for less than $1.50 to third- and fifth-graders during the fair. The students then voted for the two charities they wanted to donate the money to, and settled on Coastal Humane Society and the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, each of which received checks of $355.50. To the delight of the kids, Wehr and Manning brought in a cat and a dog for them to pet.Especially in the dead of winter, the Harraseeket Inn poses a warm, inviting setting in downtown Freeport.
