Aug. 26: Hooked on Fishing at Maine Wildlife Park: Learn about the many fishing education programs available through MDIFW for schools, scouts, clubs and other groups. Practice your fishing skills using the Backyard Bass casting game. FMI 287-3303.

Aug. 26: 41st Annual WCSH 6 Sidewalk Art Festival, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. More than 300 artists and 40,000 visitors attend this festival. The festival is held on Congress Street in the Arts District, from Park Street to Monument Square. Congress Street is closed to vehicular traffic, creating a 7-block, pedestrian-friendly, open-air art market and an even more peaceful, safe, and enjoyable environment.

Aug. 26: Pasta Supper from 5-7 p.m. to benefit Parish Youth Ministry at St. Joseph Church Hall. Adults $7, $3 children under 12, or $20 per family. Call Bob Pelletier 647-8440 for tickets.

Aug. 27: Annual Colonial Service at Old Red Church, Oak Hill Road, starting at 10:30 a.m. Rev. H. Zidowecki, UCC. The Red Church Museum will be open following the service.

AUG. 29: The Windham Public Library Book Group meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the library. They will be discussing “Digging to America” by Anne Tyler on Tuesday. New members are always welcome. Please calll Barbara at the library for more information (892-1908).

Sept. 5: Deadline for 4th Annual Golf Classic to benefit Leavitt’s Mill Health Center in Buxton will be held on Sept. 14 at the Gorham Country Club. Corporate Teams ($360) or Individual Players($90).
