The Opportunity Farm for Boys and Girls of New Gloucester recently recently named the officers for its board of directors.

Cheryl Bascomb of New Gloucester will serve as board chairwoman. Bascomb, a board member since 2002, has led the Development Committee and the Committee on Trustees. Bascomb is the marketing director for the accounting firm of Berry, Dunn, McNeill & Parker in Portland. She lives with her husband, David, and their two children, Garrett and Rosa.

Sam Parkhill, who joined the board in 2006, will serve as vice chairman. Parkhill moved to Maine from the Boston area where he retired from the Stackpole Corporation. He has been involved with several nonprofits, including the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Association of Boston and Belmont Hill High School.

Catherine Martin of Cumberland Foreside will serve an additional term as secretary. Martin joined Opportunity Farm’s board in 2004. In addition to her role as secretary, she has served on the Program Committee.
