Bean supper
American Legion Post 148 will be hosting a bean supper on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Windham Veterans Center from 5-6:30 p.m. Cost is $8 at the door, under 12 free.
Italian dinner
On Saturday, Nov. 14, the Windham Knights of Columbus will hold an Italian dinner from 5-6 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Route 302 in Windham. Dinner menu includes homemade marinara sauce and meatballs, pasta, garlic bread, traditional antipasto, coffee/tea/punch and homemade dessert buffet. Adults, $9 and children 12 and under, $4. Proceeds from the event support Wreaths Across America.
Everlasting Gratitude ?Wreath Program
For the third consecutive year, Libby Jordan of Studio Flora will be working in collaboration with local veterans and Scout groups to place wreaths on all veterans’ graves in Windham. The wreaths will be placed on Saturday, Dec. 5. Help is needed with the production of bows for the wreaths as well as distribution of the wreaths. If you or your organization can help with bows, contact Libby at 892- 7523 or see her at 889 Roosevelt Trail. If you or your groups can help with wreath placement, contact Dave at 892-1306.
Winter programs
The town’s Parks and Recreation Department is planning on snow! Group ski programs offer discounts on Wednesdays and Fridays, for specific age groups. The five-week group program begins after the holidays. Check the website, www.windhammaine.us, for more information. If you’d rather recreate inside (basketball, volleyball), adult open gym is for age 21-plus, every Sunday at the high school and season passes can be purchased at the gym or office. Boston Light
Light keeper Sally Snowman presents a program about the Boston Light, a 1716 light station still in use today, at 7 p.m. at Windham Historical Society, 234 Windham Center Road, Windham. $5 suggested donation. Call 892-1433 for more information.

Christmas fair
North Windham Union Church will hold its annual Christmas Fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the church on Route 302. Features include decorated wreaths, fine crafts, books, baked goods, mittens and hats, lunch counter, homemade soup, toys, silent auction with many items from local businesses.
Christmas stockings
St. Ann’s Episcopal Church every year fills Christmas stockings for children in need through the Windham/Raymond school system. They stuff 100 stockings for girls and boys and deliver them to the guidance counselors and school nurses in grades K-8. If you could benefit from this program please contact your local school guidance counselor or nurse.
Holiday Fair
Tritown Extension will hold a Holiday Fair at the Masonic Hall, Cressey Road, Gorham, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21. A light lunch will be available as well as greens, holiday baskets, knit and needlework, food, sweets, gifts and many other items. For more information, call 892-4249.
Christmas food baskets and toy workshop
From Monday, Nov. 9, through Thursday, Dec. 3, the Windham Food Pantry will be taking applications for Christmas baskets and the annual Toy Workshop. Applications must be in person Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. No phone calls, please. Reminder, programs are for Windham residents only and require proof of residency.
Craft fair and lunch
On Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the annual Christmas Craft Fair will be held at North Windham Union Church. Featured items include crafts, wreaths, baked goods, fudge, silent auction, books and knit items. A lunch of homemade soup and lobster roll will be available. The church is at 723 Roosevelt Trail (892-6142).
Book & Bake Sale
On Saturday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m.-3:30 pm., the Friends of the Windham Public Library will hold their annual Book & Bake Sale. The preview sale is Friday, Nov. 20, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with a $10 fee for each person entering the building that evening. Prices will be $1 for adult hard cover books, 50 cents for adult paperback; $1 for audio/visual; 25 cents for children’s books (except hard cover chapter books) and 50 cents for hardcover chapter books. Senior Center activities
The Lakes Region Senior Center at Little Falls Activity Center, 40 Acorn St., Gorham, will be closed Nov. 25-27 for Thanksgiving. This drop-in center for area seniors offers socializing, coffee, tea, bocce ball and other activities, throughout November including Mahjong on Mondays, call 892-9529.
Non-food pantry
St. Ann’s Episcopal Church, near the corner of River Road and Windham Center Road, holds an “Essentials Pantry” from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 and Dec. 19. Non-food items such as cleaning products, personal hygiene products and this month hats, mittens and gloves for both children and adults will be available. Please bring in proof of residency in the Lakes Region. There is no charge.
Cancer support group
Beginning on Friday, Nov. 20, a new support group will be meeting on the third Friday each month at 1:30 p.m. at Unity, 54 River Road, Windham. The group is in partnership with the Cancer Community Center, South Portland, and is open to people who are affected by cancer, their friends, family and caregivers.
