Windham Center Stage Theater will be holding auditions for its annual children’s production of The Wizard of Oz opening in March, 2006.
Based on the always-popular response from the community and the limitations as to the availability of the Community Center, Windham Center Stage will be offering a limited number of auditions and will require the children’s parents to make an appointment for their audition.
Only those children in the second through eighth grade are invited to audition. These changes to the procedure will allow Windham Center Stage to continue to offer every child who gets an audition appointment a part in the show and will maintain the quality of the shows. If necessary, a waiting list will be created to allow replacement for those children who have auditioned but who are not able to meet the commitment to our rehearsal and show schedule.
Children must be able to commit to the following rehearsal and show schedule: Tuesday evenings (beginning in December), Friday evenings, Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons (beginning in January). No rehearsal on Saturday, Feb. 4, or Feb. 17, 18, 19. Dress rehearsal weekend Feb. 26-29. Performances are Mar. 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12 including Saturday afternoon and evening shows.
Attendance is required for all scheduled rehearsals and performances. There are no excused absences. If you can make this commitment, please call for an audition appointment at 893-2098. Leave your name, phone number, and the age and number of children auditioning. If you are not called back to schedule your appointment within 24 hours, please call again. Auditions are on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3 and 4 at the town hall with call backs on Sunday, Dec. 4. Auditions will be assigned by age. Bring a song if you want to audition for a singing role; text for speaking parts will be provided. Audition fee is $10 and is non-refundable.
