Facing the holidays after the death of a loved one is often a challenge, sometimes even years after the loss. There are so many memories of togetherness that the absence of that special person is all the more painful and confusing.

Getting support, learning what reactions and feelings are normal, and finding ways to cope with the reality of loss and grief is all the more important during the holidays.

Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice’s Pathways through Grief provides just this support and help in a free program for adults called “Coping with the Holidays.”

If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, you are invited to attend one or both evenings of this free, two-session series that will provide information about common grief reactions as well as suggestions to help you and your family adjust and respond sensitively and creatively to this difficult situation. Discussion and sharing is encouraged and you will leave with simple but effective strategies to take better care of your grief needs.

The program is 6-7:30 p.m. and will be held in Bridgton at the Bridgton Community Center at 15 Depot St. Nov. 13 and Dec. 11 and in Oxford at the Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice office on Nov. 14 and Dec. 12.

Please call Joan Spitzform at 777-7740 or (800) 482-7412 ext. 1460 to register or for more information.
