The Bay of Naples Inn opened in 1900 and was taken down in 1964. When it opened, it had a staff of 85 which took care of the 72 rooms with baths and 14 public baths. The dining room seated 225. At the beginning, it had a stable of 16 horses to take guests around the village; the horses were eventually replaced by 16 Model T Fords. When the Inn was built, carpenters earned $1.50 a day and rough lumber cost $4 per thousand board feet.
