Meeting on schools’ conduct code scheduled
On Monday, March 3, Westbrook High School will host the first of a series of public forums to discuss the school department’s code of conduct for student athletes.
The forum, taking place at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium, follows a report released last month on the School Department’s handling of an incident of student drinking and the application of the current policy.
Moderating the talks is Nicole Manganelli, director of the Unity Project, an anti-bullying, non-profit organization that works with schools.
‘Beyond the Object’ Saccarappa Art exhibit
A cross-section of contemporary realism will be showcased in an upcoming exhibit at the Saccarappa Art Collective, 861 Main St., featuring works by Jonathan Eiten and Liz Patterson.
“Beyond the Object” will be displayed from March 5 through April 11. A public reception will mark the opening from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 8.
The main gallery will feature Eiten’s Dutch realism inspired still lifes and figures. The Riverside Wall will feature Patterson’s richly layered, colored pencil drawings.
Maine landscapes by guest artist Diana Johnson, and new work by collective members Andy Curran, Mary Brooking, Jim Flahaven, Tanya Fletcher, Caren-Marie Michel, Susan Orfant, Melissa Post van der Burg, and Frank Valliere will round out the exhibit.

Bingo for seniors
Westbrook Seniors Citizens will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 3, in the Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St. For entertainment, the group will play bingo.

Woman’s club to meet
Westbrook Woman’s Club will fill sunshine baskets when it meets at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, in Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St. Members are reminded to bring items for the baskets. Light refreshments will be served.
Doody on dean’s list
Kyle B. Doody of Westbrook has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Northern Maine Community College in Aroostook County.
