Q: What do you think the solutions are?

A: Jobs: I plan to insist that we sell previously voter-approved bonds to do work that is an absolute necessity to the economic well-being and safety of our residents. That will put many people to work and improving the quality of everyone’s life (roads and bridges, for example)

Infrastructure: That would be seeing our construction folks at work – a biggie for me.

Property tax: I will do my best to keep the state from moving the responsibility and cost of caring for the elderly, disabled and the young from the traditional and well-accepted structure of the state Department of Health and Human Services onto our communities’ property tax. At the state level, not an easy change.

Q: Do you support same-sex marriage?

A: I do support non-traditional marriage, I mean really, whose ox gets gored? Let’s just be fair.

Michael Lawson (R)
