GORHAM – Gorham police searched Monday for a wanted man believed holed up in an apartment in Little Falls.

But police were unable to locate the fugitive, who Lt. Christopher Sanborn said Tuesday is wanted in New Hampshire on a felony kidnapping warrant.

Sanborn declined to release the suspect’s name.

Police had heard the kidnapping suspect was in Little Falls. At about noon on Monday, three Gorham police cruisers were parked on Gray Road. Sanborn and two Gorham officers, Wayne Drown and one other officer were on the sidewalk outside 826 Gray Road.

From the street sidewalk, police appeared to be peering through a window in a door at the house. The suspect, Sanborn said, was not in the building.

“We’re thinking he’s not in the area at this time,” Sanborn said.

Gorham police believed on Tuesday that the suspect was in the Manchester, N.H., area on Monday.

But, Sanborn said, police are keeping “an eye” on Gorham.
