Drug Enforcement Agents and the Cumberland County sheriff seized 90 marijuana plants from a suspected growing operation in the basement of a Standish residence last week.
Anthony J. Alfiero, 41, was arrested during the 9 p.m. raid on his house at 2 Deerfield Circle on the night of Wednesday, Jan. 24. He was charged with aggravated cultivating of marijuana and he was released early the next morning from the Cumberland County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.
Some processed marijuana and five firearms were also seized from the residence. Chief Deputy Kevin Joyce of the Sheriff’s Office said at least one of the guns was a shotgun and the rest were rifles.
