The Gray Recreation Department will have several winter programs running in the next few weeks.

Junior Basketball: There is still some space available in the junior basketball program. There are still open slots in session one for five and seven-year-olds only. The session one group for six-year-olds is full. There is still some space in all three age groups for session two. Parents interested in registering their child should contact the recreation department as soon as possible.

Patriot Boys Youth Basketball: Due to the gym floor at the Gray-New Gloucester Middle School being refinished, this program will start on Saturday, Dec. 8. Times will remain the same. There is still space available in this program.

Lady Patriot Youth Basketball: We are currently taking registration forms at a rapid pace and hope to see many more young players get involved. With a new varsity coach on board there should be plenty of new ideas and interest in playing basketball. This program will be starting on Dec. 1.

2007 Winter Sports Information (Nordic skiing/alpine skiing/snow boarding): The flier was passed out through the schools last week. Fliers are also available at Newbegin, the town office and at the school office counter.

Santa Is Coming To Town: Newbegin Gym, Saturday, Dec. 15, 2 to 4 p.m. Hayrides, children’s entertainment, visit with Santa and the elves will be passing out goodie bags. This is a free event for all family members. More information will be available in the weeks to come.
